Mind at ease

First year husband retired but program change a form to get refund.
What's great about it: Government questions confusing but program clarified them.
What's not so great: Many, many questions but understanding.

Don't slack on the Mac!

Turbo Tax is generally pretty robust software, except for this year. I suspected something was up when it found necessary updates to the software every single time I launched it. But the data entry part went fine. There wasn't another hitch until the transmittal stage of filing, which hung up and then gave and update error--kind of a critical thing to get right! Fifteen minutes on the help forum, searching under "Mac OSX" got me an answer that worked first time. So it was a known issue, and it was addressed well through the help forums. Just don't leave us Mac people hanging next year!
What's great about it: Gives me a sense of control
What's not so great: Buggy for Mac this year, usually its fine

Great product!
Easy to use - leads you by the hand...
Great in-program & online support + links to all IRS docs.
Not sure how it could be better.
I've been using TT since 1988 - never been audited - nothing could convince me to trust anyone else.

Buggy

For the past 3-4 weeks I tried to efile my federal and AZ tax return. My install to my Windows 7 64 bit - fully updated - was via download. I auto updated Turbo Tax Deluxe on each start up.
TT would hang when trying to file both Fed and State tax with a blank pop up after saving retuirns. Called tech support and they are sending me CD install to use instead of the download install.
I decided to try to efile the FED only. That worked. The AZ efile froze as described above.
What's great about it: ease of use
What's not so great: Buggy

I have used TurboTax for long time and have been satisfied with
the results. I feel that I pay my "fair" share of taxes, but do take advantage of allowable deductions and have no fear of an audit as I have the records to substantiate my claims. The additional
peace of mind with the audit protection allows me to file my taxes with confidence. Thank you TurboTax!

What's great about it: Collect your information, then answer the questions.
What's not so great: Found it somewhat difficult to change a mistake

Why do you not include the [price for e-filing the state return? Every year the price keeps going up without warning.
What's great about it: Imformation loaded from last year saved lots of time

Got the Max Back

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years and it has gotten progressively better and more detailed each year.
The details for military personnel have improved immensely.

What's great about it: The details of the filing are very nice. The program walks you through everything.
What's not so great: Everything works very well
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Don't Overpay

I've been using TurboTax for a number of years and each season the application continues to improve significantly. I don't look forward to doing my tax returns but TurboTax definitely shortens the preparation time.
What's great about it: Navigation was much easier and the auto fill on a lot of the forms was more complete.
What's not so great: It would be nice to autofill forms that the payer type information is identical in multiple forms
