IRS Made Easy

TurboTax is my best defense against the IRS - actually my best defense against making mistakes that cause difficulties with the IRS. Get all the information correct the first year and it's quick and easy each subsequent year.
My only general complaint is the tiny on-screen type caused me to have to rest my old eyes a couple of times. However, saving my place and restarting from there went smoothly.
When I was attempting to pay for Audit Defense in a popup window, I received an urgent phone call and it timed out. I had to sign in again at which point I was offered various Intuit products for sale. I could not close the popup window and had to force-quit TurboTax and reopen it to start the purchase over.
What's great about it: It's easy to use and it works.
What's not so great: Tiny on-screen type requires perfect vision which I no longer have.

Some issues for 2013

Usual positives with user friendliness, but frustrations with typos in the state of Illinois returns as well as not being able to e-file due to what looked like a "bug" in the system. After continually trying to file together (federal / state) with no success, I tried troubleshooting by filing separately and then trying to retype information on the personal worksheets. It finally went through...waiting for text or email with confirmation...ahh, just got the state confirmation. Looks like we are good. Also, the state refund did not show up on my active return "counter" window until I was ready to file. Overall, some potential bugs on the state side. The federal return was smooth as usual.
What's great about it: The usual positives...user friendly and quick
What's not so great: Had issues filing with the state this year. Some typos on prompts.

Still the best!

During the federal review an error was thrown concerning entering the cost/basis value for donated items. The explanation wasn't detailed or clear enough on what needed to be entered. There wasn't even a link to the IRS documents concerning this.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate. Straight forward.
What's not so great: Doesn't always go back to were you last left off

I have used Turbo Tax since it began, and each year it makes the job of filing my taxes as easy as can be.

I use Quicken and import my data along with my IRA data from Fidelity.

Doing your taxes the easy way

If you what a easy software to use for doing you taxes this is it. But wait, the costs for additional state returns are way too high and then the cost for filinhg those returnes are also steep and seem to be going up and up. Will be looking at different software next year after over 10 years of using TurboTax.
What's great about it: Fast, easy and simple.
What's not so great: Too EXPENSIVE!! Pricing is going out of the roof. Will re-think who I use in the future.

you can be confident with turbo tax

I have used turbo tax exclusively for at least 10 yrs. I am totally confident in my ability to accurately complete my taxes. I could not imagine paying someone else to complete them for me. I feel all potential deductions are addressed and if I have questions about anything as I am doing the taxes the answers are right there
What's great about it: ttakes you step by step through all forms and situations, promts questions for new deductions

Easy as Always

I have used TurboTax now for 15 years. The information transfers from the previous year and it was just as easy as previous years to complete and file my taxes.
