2013 Federal Review

I wish I could toggle back and forth between form view and topic view without losing your place (reviewing a line in form view would take you to the same place in topic view). Maybe there is a way to do this and I'm just not aware. I thought the older versions of the program used to do this.
What's great about it: Excellent ease of use, explanations & context help assistance
What's not so great: None (see suggestion below)

Turbo Tax Deluxe walks you through step by step exactly what is necessary for the completion of your itemized taxes. It does all the calculations which makes filing simple and saves money by not having to file your taxes with a tax accountant.
What's great about it: Very user friendly. Anyone can do their taxes
What's not so great: none

TurboTax did not cover Form 1045, Net Operating Loss. TaxACT did cover Form 1045, but I ended up using TurboTax for its depreciation info, which TaxACT did not seem to pick up. I will use both again next year, and if TurboTax has not added the Form 1045 functionality by then I will be forced to use TaxACT. Form 1045 is obnoxious and a pain to figure, and I am not willing to try it on paper. I would have used TaxACT this year if I would have had to carry back the Net Operating Loss to former years. I was able to waive that, and carry it forward to 2014. Both ended up with the same dollar amount for tax this year.
What's great about it: I used both TurboTax and TaxACT this year. I liked TurboTax's format and ease of navigating better than TaxACT.
What's not so great: TurboTax did not cover Form 1045, Net Operating Loss.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years and it has never disappointed. This year it didn't print a 1099R with the return information, but I went to forms and found it and printed it.
What's great about it: Easy to use
