Good way to file

Takes too long to corrrect a rejected IRS return because of a PIN for one individual filing jointly.
What's great about it: easy, fast
What's not so great: needs sink with IRS on PIN verifications

2013 Turbo Tax Review

We closed a partnership this year. We sold the properties within the partnership and then distributed the cash to the partners. The only apparent option in the program was to pretend it was a sale type of disposition so I had to enter all $0s for the sale proceeds, cost basis, etc. to make it understand I had entered the info properly. There was no guidance that I could see for that situation.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Limitations in K-1 entries
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

estimated taxes

would like to be directed to e-filing my 1040 estimated taxes, and state if possible
i appeared to be in an infinite loop just before e-filing as the program kept telling me there were updates to be applied
i like just how little modality is required to use this tool
What's great about it: i can use like a spreadsheet & avoid the interview process
What's not so great: a couple, see write up

Excellent Product

I have used TurboTax since 2007, and would not change to any other tax software. I have been spoiled by their simple yet thorough approach to the whole "taxing" situation. Have questions? Click here, and voila, there's the answer. Have trouble understanding a certain word and/or phrase, yep, they've got that covered too.
What's great about it: Step-by-Step No Fluff, All Facts
What's not so great: Understanding some words/terminology can be confusing

2013 version not good

I have used Turbo Tax for 10 years. This version is the poorest version ever. First, it would not load on my PC. After numerous attempts and after downloading the patch to fix the loading problem, I finally had to contact support. After he had me download the patch again and try it unsuccessfully, he finally created a dowload version and had me download that copy. It finally downloaded. I think it is terrible that you put this version out there with known download errors and a patch.
What's great about it: Calculates efficiently as always
What's not so great: takes forever to load and has known errors in loading

I needed to pay additional taxes and TurboTax indicated I could use my credit card and choose the date (until April 15th) when charges would be made. I went all the way through and was never given the chance to choose an effective date.
What's great about it: Relatively easy to use
What's not so great: One non-sequitur
