Turbo Tax 2013

Great changes from last year. Have been using the program for over 10 years now and wouldn't do it any other way. Cant wait for next year as I have also started using quick books to track spending
What's great about it: Improved import and speed from last year

deduction problems

I had a deduction entered and coded wrong. Went back to the forms and tried to make a correction and could not. Tried to delete problem deduction and it took about 30 minutes to figure it out. Finally deleted item (I think). Instructions not very clear.
What's not so great: very confusing when trying to fix a deduction error

was not warned or did no expect to have to pay or efile state, thought when I bough the version that had for state returns it would also include efile.
What's great about it: easy step by step instructons and examples

Love it, but please tweak Schedule C interview

I find Turbo Tax to be an exceptional product. I'm far from an accounting whiz, but after doing our taxes with T.T. for a few years and having our CPA check for errors (he found none!), I've proceeded with confidence for the past several years!
I love how it tracks things like IRA contributions and keeps current with the maze of all the tax laws.
Suggestions:
1) Can you make the info for Schedule C more accessible? I don't like having to go through all the steps every time I think of another item or deduction to add.
2) We purchased a new car this year and sold our old one privately. It was very confusing to know what to do, because in the interview there were only "traded in" or "stopped using" options for the old vehicle. Figuring out the like-kind exchange and whether or not I needed that form took WAY too much time, and wasn't very clear. (I'm still not sure I did the right thing.)
What's great about it: Easy, lots of helps, friendly, accessible feeling

Tax Life Simplified

This is at least the 6th year we have used Turbo Tax and it just gets better. I tell friends about it and some say oh my situation isn't standard. I tell them Turbo Tax is set up to consider everything. You really need to try it, especially if you aren't ever home at tax time. It is really easy to use on the go.
What's great about it: Very straight forward
What's not so great: Tough to connect previous years from on line to DVD instal
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Do It Yourself Tax Reporting

Have used Turbotax for several years and really like the ability to bring information forward from previous tax years. I miss the review information that used to be at the end that would show how your tax filing compared to others in your income bracket and I didn't see the suggestion section that showed how you might have additional tax savings in the future.
What's great about it: Could work on the tax reports on my own time and could go back and review to make good decisions.
What's not so great: Was a little confusing in sections that required investment income reporting (e.g. long term and short term capital gain

As always, a good product, however there appeared to be one glitch in the program, and that was in regard to a 1099 Misc form that I receive from my former employer for a Health Insurance subsidy. The program was trying to call this income a business or work and wanted to charge a business tax for it. If you could offer some explanation I would appreciate it.
