I gave $25 to a particular charitable organization on nine different months for a total of $225. The calculation came out as 225 different donations. On the cover page i showed the amount as $25 so the form multiplied $25 * 225. I had to show the worksheet as a single $1 donation and the amount on the cover as $225 (I screwed up and used $175 on the real form) in order to get the correct amount to show on the federal form.

Lack of information

There is a page that compares the current tax year with the last tax year. Good info. There may be a change in the law but there was no explanation. My Total Income was $1,400 less than last year; my Federal Deductions were $1,500 less than last year; and my Taxable Income was $1,400 less than last year. The problem is that the Federal Tax Due was double what it was last year. If TurboTax is going to do a comparison, there should be a significant effort to explain the reason for such outrageous tax increases.
What's great about it: quick process
What's not so great: failure to explain discrepancies
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

some of the things did not easly fall into place like last year. it seem to take more work. May have some one do my taxes next year. even the review is killer. just want to be done with this today. how many nick names do i have to come up with?
What's great about it: this is the simplest way of doing them

Great help in preparing tax report

This is the first time I have done the taxes; previously my wife had done them, but both using TurboTax.
I feel a high comfort level using this program, and will use it in the future.

What's great about it: Easy-to-follow instructions; help finding all deductions possible; double checking for errors; and audit probablity
What's not so great: Some glitch did not allow for fed electronic filing. Still don't know what went wrong.

1099 MISC handling miss identified it as income from a personal business and generated a tax when in fact the income was taxed benefits from an employer, and not a personal business.
The software tries to assume a lot and unless your experienced with taxes, it can assume the wrong thing. I've seen this for many years. Also when you do a review of the complete program it misses the areas that show review in it.

Some explanations of taxable entries and deductions could be more clear.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax organizes income & deductions logically.
What's not so great: This year I had to really SEARCH for the Update Turbo Tax command.

Overall good would be nice if it could incorporate things from my 2012 taxes which were also done through Turbo-Tax and stored in the same computer. Would enter all personnel information. Notice there was no problem retaining prior year credit card information when paying Turbo-Tax fees. Just thought that was interesting. But overall a easily navigated system and non-stress experience. Thank You.
What's great about it: Wrll structured fairly eay to navigate
What's not so great: Casualty forms a little difficult to navigate first time through could use more explination for theft loss items
