Not a Happy Camper

Not knowing that a fix and repair program was available, I was not able to load my disc copy of Turbo Tax. I had to get professional assistance to get started. At the end of the filing process I was not sure if my e-file had actually been sent as the program simply stopped when I pressed the "Continue" button. I still do not know about that. So I am in limbo. I have used Turbo Tax for several years and this is the first time I have had trouble. I expected more and I received less. I am undecided whether or not I will use this program again next year.

Easy as I 2 3

I've been using Turbo Tax for years and each time it has helped me get a refund and explain each detail of my return. When I sold some stock a few years ago Turbo Tax came though in helping me make the right decisions and computations to easy my troubled mind. I'm always giving props to Turbo Tax whenever I can do it. I don't know why everyone doesn't use it.
What's great about it: Easy to follow Instructions

Not as happy as last year

I typically Efile federal and two states; last year Deluxe version took care of fed and one state. This year Efile fees doubled with Deluxe.
When working with two or more states, questions re income for the nonresident state are unclear if working with a pension from an institution in that state.
What's great about it: Guided through business forms; provided confidence
What's not so great: It got expensive to e-file state

Worst Version EVER !!!!!!

If this was the first time I ever used Turbo Tax I can assure you it would be the last. Hard transition from e-file on the fed to trying to print the state to mail. Insane price to e-file the state.
I have been using TT for years and this is the worst software you have ever produced. Really on the fence if I will purchase next year!
What's not so great: Difficult to navigate.

Why the trouble?

I sold my home this year at a great loss. I went to a lot of trouble to look up all of the information Turbo Tax asked for. After adding up all of my costs for purchasing and improving the home, then subtracting the sales price, Turbo Tax showed me exactly how much I had lost (a very depressing number). Then the kicker - Turbo Tax said 'Sorry, you can't deduct personal losses.' Why on earth did I have to go to all that trouble, then? That was torture!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is mostly easy
What's not so great: Made me go through a lot of work for nothing

No errors no worries

I have used Turbo Tax for many years. I like the layout of the return, the helpful notes and hints, and the knowledge that if I put in accurate information in my return, the math will be correct and if audited, I have no real worries. Depending on Turbo Tax is such a relief. (I remember the frustration, confusion and irritation of making out my return by hand.)
What's great about it: Very thorough, helpful, and error-free for me
What's not so great: Charity mileage needs a 3rd option: Multiple dates/of different mileage/ number of miles
