Quick and easy

I finished my taxes in two sittings, plus a short review. Have as much paperwork with you as you can when you start.
What's great about it: I like the summary pages.
What's not so great: I wish there was one Turbo Tax with all the features thereby eliminating upgrades, etc.

Can't think of anyone who could not use Turbo Tax. Worked for a tax company and find TT very similar
What's great about it: Details on subjects not familiar with
What's not so great: Wish amounts for SS income would populate Medicare income, only having to change if different

I selected to print mail federal return but was not given the opportunity to email the state return--it was skipped.
What's great about it: familiarity from former years

I've been using TurboTax for years now.....at least 15-20 or so and continue to be pleased with the product, ease of navigation, and as of the last few years, the benefit of being able to electronically file ! How good is that. Unless someone has a very complicated tax scenario, can't imagine why they would not want to use TurboTax to prepare their taxes.

Unless you have some very complex tax issues you simply cannot beat Turbo Tax. I've been using Turbo Tax for more than 14 years and every year I said it couldn't get any better. But it does. I did my entire federal and state taxes in about an hour and that included e-filing both returns.
What's great about it: Quick, easy and intuitive

Takes the pain out of filing tax returns

Could do a better job explaining what goes on form 8949. Such as what to do with items called out in the review and what to do with it.
What's great about it: Downloading directly from brokerage accounts takes the mystery out of what to put where.
What's not so great: Unable to handle one of the transactions. Called it out, did not complete form.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
