Glad it's Done

one year I am told I need to pay Estimated Taxes for State and Federal, the next year i Was told to pay only Federal Estimated taxes. Then at tax time I had a big tax payment owed to State. Not fun.
What's great about it: Good Customer Service and Support
What's not so great: inconsistently suggests Estimated tax payments required

Painless Preparation

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years now and have enjoyed how Turbo Tax has simplefied the process of Tax preparation. Each year the process gets alittle more streamlined du to the software remembering my data from one year to the next. I also like how Turbo Tax always checks for updates, right down to the day you file.
What's great about it: Information carryover from previous year
What's not so great: None!

When you know you don't have deductions to file long form it would be nice to just go to the short form and take the standard deductions without having to answer all those unnecessary questions.

I'll be looking for new Company next year. Intuit products have too
many problems. Still can't use my on-line Quicken, now Turbo Tx was a disaster.

What's great about it: None. Go back to 2012 model
What's not so great: Use simple terms, like PRINT, no Xtra Garbage.

I have used Turbo Tax every year since 2009. It is simple, easy and it helps you at every step till the end when you efile. The questions that they ask really helps in the preparation of filing. Plus it has help features and even directs you to what paperwork you will need. This program is by far the best on the market. It's not complicated and that is a big plus for me. I trust the information that is provided and I am confident with the end result. It is always a great experience doing it yourself. Thanks!

Bad at the End

On donations, need a better way of putting in the mileage instead of having to go back on each item. Too easy to proceed and miss the mileage.
The End is AWFUL ! I couldn't find out how to print the return to send in and had a hard time getting my copy printed with all the options. I had to get my husband to help me read all your LONG instructions on printing.
Give a choice for e-file or print and then let us do it. Don't keep trying to talk me into e-filing. Ask me once and let's get on with it.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and fill in the info.
What's not so great: How to Print Instructions were horrible. Didn't like the advertisements.

The filing process was, for the most part, a very smooth process. However, I ran into difficulty in the section dealing with calculations of educational deduction/credit for 529 disbursements.
