Fast and Easy!!!

I'm so impressed how easy and fast Turbo Tax was. This bets going to an accountant with simple tax forms and wondering if they have invested time needed to get the most out of your return. Life changes last year made me think this years (2013) tax returns to be more difficult but in fact made it easier than I thought in the beginning.
What's great about it: questions regarding tax laws answered quickly.
What's not so great: Would have liked a progress bar. To know how much more to input knowing your individual situation however.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Once again, you folks created an easy to use tool. I find tax time not as scary as it used to be because of TurboTax!
What's great about it: Ease of Use, don't need to be an accountant
What's not so great: No help links within State Filing section

A bug in a form that keeps bugging me. I can't change any line of those documents even though they are obviously wrong. I can only submit my calculation on a worksheet and the reason why I can claim a loss investment.
My job status is somewhat volatile. My past ROTH IRA cannot claim back the loss by whatsoever reason. The fighting norm is clear to me. Somewhat harsh life.
More cash equivalent liquidity is hard to achieve in my home network.
What's great about it: Easy guidelines
What's not so great: Software security is poor.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

The process was the smoothest ever and I have ben using Turbo Tax before it was called Turbo Tax. Entries were easy to do an going back to change numbers was quick and simple.
What's great about it: This was the easiest version yet.
What's not so great: No dislikes.

Instead of stating that the government has not yet completed all the documents give detailed instructions as to how to obtain the updates. Very confusing how to click on menu to obtain updates. For those of us that are not the younger generation and as computer literate as others simple DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ARE A MUST.

Unexpectedly Easy

Our return has been complicated enough that we used a professional tax service for the past ten years. Last year we had a bad experience with a mistake on our deductions that doubled our taxes owed. The tax service filed the amended return and but IRS didn't catch up to the mistake for six months. Straightening things out was a nightmare. This year I tried it myself with TurboTax and was extremely pleased with the ease of completing the return and ability to double check things.
What's great about it: Good explanations, step by step process
What's not so great: I couldn't find answers to one or two questions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

We own a farm in North Dakota and still have trouble with the farm forms. I'm guessing on some parts but it must be OK because North Dakota isn't calling me. You guys are really good!
What's great about it: Everything is easy to follow except the
What's not so great: farm stuff.

Simplifying a taxing situation

We've used TurboTax for a number of years. Its ability to remember past years and import data from prior returns (as long as you have saved the data into the same folders on the computer you're using) really makes things simpler, especially because it enters all your information from before, so you only have to do changes and also when you have carry-overs from prior years.
Some CONS - Several years ago, my wife and I authored a book. This year, we had some royalties (for the first time), and the directions for how to fill out out schedules were very incomplete. It would have been nice to have been able to answer a couple more questions and let the program dump things into the right places. Instead, there was a LOT of instruction reading needed to fill things out correctly.
Another situation that was difficult was receiving a small payout from a class-action suit. Again, a simple question could have made this much easier.
What's great about it: fairly simple to enter numbers. lots of help to figure out what is needed.
What's not so great: Didn't handle some unusual income and deduction situations clearly
