Not enough control

If you want to make a correction, it is difficult to get back to the particular document you want without going through a lot of cumbersome steps. If you need to do something unusual, the procedure is awkward to accomplish as it assumes you know nothing and need to be led by the nose.
The form 4852 had an explanation page which wasn't linked to the form. This led to a cumbersome explanation page which would make it difficult to read for any IRS person since the explanation page tied together two different 4852 forms which were addressing 1099R and W2. .
What's great about it: relatively complete
What's not so great: difficult to manipulate

I have a very long and difficult tax situation. But following turbotax it took many days, but the outcome I expect to be correct I love the e-filing! Now I want to e-file the state taxes.I have Arkansas and California!
What's great about it: Ease of use and Turbotax does not m iss a thing.
What's not so great: too much detail

It makes the whole process much easier than manual method. And I do not plan on showing all of my financial info to a tax prep person that was hired to work for a tax prep firm for a few weeks.
What's great about it: does everything for me
What's not so great: wish I did not have to pay extra to efile state return
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This is the eleventh tax season that I've used TurboTax. I feel that the tax laws are up-to-date when some tax specialists are not always that way. I trust the math calculations to be accurate - and that does save time- not to mention confidence. I know some tax experts who use the professional edition. Lastly, TurboTax lets me see and compare previous years without having dig out the filed records.
What's great about it: I like bringing forth last year's information; saves a lot of time!
What's not so great: For some reason I find it difficult to navigate around to find specific places in the tax forms.

Easily navigated but very slow.

The program would not start up until it had tried to install itself twice, often closed itself during work, and ran very slowly. It updated itself about four times in one day of use and asked for a computer restart on the last update. Perhaps I have a setting on my computer that kept it from asking for a restart on the first update. Because of the packaging, I believed I had bought federal and state until I was asked for more money in the middle of the program. The approach to taxes and personal comments are great, the program functions are difficult to deal with.
What's great about it: Simple questions led to straightforward tax guidance, several options to import data.
What's not so great: Froze repeatedly

2013 tax software review

The program is very good. I have a great deal of confidence in using it year in and year out. I have been using it since the middle 90's. It takes the mystery and scariness out of doing taxes.
What's great about it: very easy to navigate through the program and it is very intuitive.
What's not so great: the lack of a direct customer service number - for other than tax questions
