Quick and Easy

Have used Turbo Tax for years - the one year hubby (now ex - lol)decided to use another tax program - we got nailed for back taxes!! Doesn't happen with Turbo Tax!!!

Info Missing for Retirees

As usual quick and great. More return than if I'd try to file on my own.
Only problem were those late changes to some of the IRS requirements by the Feds. I'm retired and had to look long and hard to be sure of info re annuity date and annuity claim amount. Figure this will be solved by next year. But then I will know what was meant.
With the return guarantee or whatever it's called, I figure any problems with lack of info are solved.
So very happy with the whole experience.

A great software program that makes the incredibly complicated tax code easier for non-professionals. Since I file in two states plus a federal return along with owning farms in one state my taxes are complicated. TurboTax guided me through the process in a very straight forward manner. Thank you for providing such an outstanding customer service.
What's great about it: Great program. I have used it for years. I particularly like the step by step process.
What's not so great: This year the review of state returns was more confusing for me.

Last time I purchase this product that I have been using since 1997! Free state LOL If I have to go to my states website to fill out my taxes there to efile for free then why bother with TURBO TAX!! Besides the other issues at the end of turbo tax just trying to print your return with out all the un-necessary papers that print. Then in the program you cannot go back and make changes to edit information without the program prompting you for missed info that you have already deleted. Yes I am done with this program that offers me no benefits to efile now that all the governments are accepting taxes electronically!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This is the 8th year I have used turbo tax -- I would not do it any other way !! So easy to use.

2013 TurboTax Fed & State

Some of my situations were complex, and I couldn't answer the step-by-step questions without looking at the forms to get at what information was requested and where it was entered. Once I learned how to navigate between the two formats, it was easier. On the whole, I'd rather do it this way than with a stack of IRS forms, instructions, and incomprehensible books and a pencil and paper! Even with TurboTax, you need to check and double check that you are entering information correctly, then trust them to put it in the right form.
What's great about it: I liked the ability to switch back and forth between forms and step by step.
What's not so great: Sometimes step-by-step questions weren't specific or clear.
