This Was EASY !!

I would not be doing my own taxes if it wasn't for Turbo Tax !! It's almost like playing a game.

Raced downhill with return

There are some directions which I had to read several times before I could understand exactly how to interpret what to do. Remember most of us are not tax attorneys or auditors or CPAs. Using TurboTax for many years does help to know how to do most of the items, but some of the wording is sometimes a bit obscure and might be made somewhat easier to understand even if it means making it lengthier.
What's great about it: Made life easier to absorb the horrors of taxes.
What's not so great: Still had to give away my hard earned money to the government.

Mom's Return.

I am doing my mother's taxes and , of course, it is a simple return. It did not take long once I chose to navigate on my own.
What's great about it: Transferred data from last year.
What's not so great: Trying to avoid the State Tax review since she moved from Ohio the previous year.

Almost too easy!

TurboTax makes filing very, very easy. I have used this software for many years without any major problems. On occasion, I have made mistakes in using this software because I was trusting that I would be alerted that I was making a mistake, but was not adequately warned.
What's great about it: The hand holding was appreciated.
What's not so great: Sometimes I have the feeling that lots of stuff is going on in the background and I would like to be able to see that.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Trust Turbo tax

The pictures of people made me feel like i was dealing with people, not just a computer. In the past, i didn't feel that.
Once I had entered data and went back to review or check, I had a hard time.
We got confused by a K-1 form. It was entered under my sole-p business, yet it had nothing to with the business. FAQs helped reassure us that was the right place, with the Deluxe edition of the tax return we were using.
FAQs and search for answers, sections are very helpful.
After all our deductions were entered, we received a standard deduction, which was better. That wasn't clear at first.
Sometimes when we were confused, re-reading things helped a lot.
So for our small level of confusion, this software is better than trying to fill out the government forms, and cheaper than an accountant, which our situation doesn't need.
Sadly, I use Quicken Home and Business and have not learned how to electronically transfer those records to Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Step-by-Step; questions on all things to consider
What's not so great: Review of entered data was hard

What's great about it: not much
What's not so great: MY Federal and State income tax returns were supposed to be free. Turbo tax would not e-file my taxes until I paid
