I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years and have found it a good product for do-it-yourself tax preparers.
What's great about it: Easy to enter data
What's not so great: Wording changes from year to year

Makes a Dreadful Job Easy

Just enter your information in the right boxes. The program does the rest, instantly--and even files your returns. The only hard part is going through your records to find the information.

Better this year

Noticeably better this year when working in many work periods. In the past, it wasn't always easy to start and stop. Would like a simple printing such as a check box where you could get with one click, federal e-file and print state, and print both "keep for my files" copies.
What's great about it: Starts where you leave off
What's not so great: Do not have easy printing for split filing

Turbo tax is so great I don't know why everyone doesn't use it. It costs a bunch to have this done by someone else and you have to gather the same info so why not do it yourself?

tax relief

1st year on ss disablility. Thought I was going have to pay, instead a happy surprise. Was able to list all my deductions and get a refund. Yea Turbotax!
What's great about it: helped to identify all the medical deductions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Overall good

Have been using Turbotax since MacIntax. Overall Intuit does pretty good with tax programs. I do miss the option to burn current return and app on a CD. It was nice to know if I had to review my return in the future I would have everything I needed in a convenient package.
I would be nice to see Intuit bring Quicken for Mac up to date.
What's great about it: Reasonably easy
What's not so great: Missing option to burn CD w/app to open in future

Covers all the bases like a pro athlete

Having used the software for over ten years I must like it, and I would rate it highly.
However, while I appreciate the step by step approach my preference is to go directly to the forms. Usually that approach works best for me, but on occasion it leads to some confusing situations.
What threw me this time was getting through all the error checks and reviews to the point of e-filing and getting rejected by the sw which told me to load updates and try again. I kept doing it for over 30 minutes and was still rejected until 2 days later when my returns were finally accepted by the sw. Otherwise the program is well thought out and performs very nicely.

What's not so great: to many indirect worksheets to get to the needed form and problems e-filing on an errorless return and told to mail

As you are going through the process, it would be nice if when you finish one section that you did not have to scroll down to the next section to highlight and begin doing it. The program would just go to that next section automatically. Time and effort saver!!
