Decidedly Mixed for 2013

Latest update eliminated the possibility of sending my Federal refund to ONE account. There were THREE choices: split between two or more accounts and two choices involving purchase of Series E US Savings Bonds. Who overlooked that one? It is the normal default, so you had to work at it to miss it!!
What's great about it: Carries forward past year's info
What's not so great: Eliminated deposit to ONE account-must split or buy bonds!!

Turbo tax is a great tool, is easy to use, and helps me maximize my tax return.

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years and continue to be pleased with the way they walk me through the process with questions. Their explanations are written for the layman to understand so a knowledge of the tax codes is not necessary.

What's great about it: Easy to use, able to check individual forms for a final check.
What's not so great: Had problems when e-filing the return using an Apple MacBook.

Easy and Efficient

I have used Turbo Tax for over 20 years and I do 5 different taxes for family members. I really like the auto fill in from the previous year. I like the Federal E file and the automatic confirmation through E mail. When downloading from a financial institution I would like to see a summary showing where and how much was entered. I do like the downloading feature because it saves a considerable amount of time.
What's great about it: Like the step by step questions and entries
What's not so great: Difficulty in entering information from K-1s especially when there is real estate and other business on the same K1
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

NO FREE STATE TAX FILING

I file fed/state forms for three people.
Last year when asked do "I want to use my free state filing now" on my first filing, I said "NO" I was never asked again and was billed for all three.
This year I was asked the question again and answered YES. I was billed for all three.
What do I need to do to get my my free state filing?
