Can taxes be fun?

I've been using TutboTax for about 20 years, and used another brand of tax preparer before that. There is tedium in gathering all the data and making entries, but the use of TurboTax itself is the least taxing (sic) part of the effort.
What's great about it: Mimics a session(s) with your accountant, checks for items I'd never think of, much help along the way
What's not so great: Two attempts to get "community" help brought no responses
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

An Excellent Tax Preparation Product

I file Federal and two State tax returns and have until this year always done it by hand. This year I used Turbo Tax Deluxe and it prompted me for details for more items and forms than I would have thought or known to use. I'm convinced it saved me hundreds of dollars. And it connected and submitted all necessary forms including copies of State and Federal returns where needed for the two State returns I filed. Finally, I needed to call for support several times and received prompt, courteous, and thorough help over the phone. Intuit's Turbo Tax is all around a great product!
What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Can't think of any.

Reliable but clunky
on April 3, 2014

I have used this product for years, and rely on accurate tax submissions. However, it has become more and more difficult to use, especially when trying to access a form or entry later. (Ie to enter estimate tax info, or to correct an incorrect line entry). Also, at the end of the federal and state entries, when it's time to review, it's easy to get into a loop...constantly reviewing and checking audit possibility.....It's more noticeable with state taxes, and it's very hard to get into the middle of the return without having to find a particular form.
What's great about it: You can be sure calculations are accurate and placed correctly on forms
What's not so great: Clunky...especially if you want to find an entry after passing a section.

Keep using it using it year after year

I think I started to use Turbo tax when it first came out and have used it every year since. Never any problems with any of tax returns. Just go with the flow and everything works out great.
We have a large amount of in-kind contributions and I liked the way the old "Its deductible" worked, better than what you have had the last few years. i don't know how to improve it, but it seems that when I am making entries for a particular organization and date I shouldn't have to go back to that point for each item in a different category.
What's great about it: using year after year saves a lot of data entry
What's not so great: better way to do in kind contributions

I changed computers and never could get this years Turbo tax to read/find last years tax information. I transferred it with a thumb drive but had to retype everything.

I loved everything expet the PA worksheet. It keeps making me fill in the info after I already filled it in. there doesn't seem to be a way to fill in the worksheet from the Guide Me section. I've tried everyone but so far no luck.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: won't let me e-file PA
