Best Tax Program Ever

I have used TurboTax for more than a decade. Have never been questioned by the IRS. That says it all.
What's great about it: Easy to use and understand
What's not so great: None

Hard to file by paper

It is a great program that I use to file my mother-in-laws and daughters return. The keystroke to file a paper return are unnecessarily difficult because you are trying to make an electronic state filing fee. The print button does not work when and you can't easily file federal electronically and immediately file paper state. I am unimpressed with this self serving feature,

Overall a very good product. Have used turbo tax since it has been available. Easier than filling out the paper forms and mailing them in. Thanks Turbo.

Tax Time Again

I like Turbo Tax because it walks me through the tax process step by step, and it allows me to stop to gather (find, dig up) more data and paperwork as I go along. I can save where I am, and when I restart, it picks up where I left off.
I think it is a great tool for the common guy doing his above average taxes, and it is way cheaper than hiring someone else to do them.
Great Job Turbo Tax!!!
What's great about it: It was easy!
What's not so great: Not much to say for cons.

For the most part, much better than HRBlock!

The flow of TurboTax is much better than HRBlock, which I had used for years. The printout for your records is very easy to follow w/o unnecessary info.
One problem I had was on Form 1116. I couldn't put "Dividends" on line 1a or "1099 Taxes" in column (j) of Part II as the IRS instructions state. HRBlock does allow this.
Otherwise, great program! Will use next year!
What's great about it: Ease of flow between step-by-step & forms view
What's not so great: Unable to fill out Form 1116 per instructions for dividends only

I had to go to my financial advisor to walk through TurboTax screens question by question to understand what Turbo tax was asking and make sure the right result is answered. Specifically, I had a Nondeductible IRA contribution which then had a full conversion to a Roth IRA. Made a difference of several thousand dollars.
What's not so great: IRA question wording in Income and Deductions was misleading

Great Product

I've used Turbo Tax since 1988 and love the product. It's easy to use, complete and worry free. The electronic transfer of financial institution information takes seconds and eliminates hours of data transfer. Gotta love it.
What's great about it: Easy to complete and file
What's not so great: Chge too much to efile State Return
