Almost paid extra $710 in taxes

Overall, I like the use of Turbo Tax and will use again next year.
Only glitch this year was in completing my daughter's taxes. She is self employed with an LLC company.Her partnership loss was over $5,000. Her adjusted gross income (AGI) was
a loss of over $2,000. Her taxable income was $0.

And yet, on the 1st draft that I ran, it showed that she owed a tax of over $700. I was completely flabbergasted that she owed any tax at all.. There was no "red flag" from TT.
Through my own efforts, I discovered that the tax amount due was the Self Employment tax. However, because I answered the question about using (or not using) the Nonfarm Optional Method to calculate self employment tax, incorrectly, this huge self employment tax was due. By answering "No" to that question, the tax went to $0. I believe the Nonfarm Optional Method is very confusing and there should be a default to "no" when posing this question.
What's great about it: Generally easy to get from "A to Z" and complete your taxes
What's not so great: Almost overpaid taxes by $710 ; wish Turbo Tax would have alerted me to this problem

Excellent and quick

Excellent software and much easier and quicker than paying a tax professional when you don't have much that the government wants to suck their "share" from.
All the deductions are laid out and highly organized. It can't get much simpler. Years of tax experience and highly integrated with many financial institutions means a high quality software you can depend on. And I do. Will use next year as well if FairTax doesn't get enacted.
What's great about it: Guided, Included all deductions, pulled ADP info
What's not so great: Deduct fee from refund costs almost double than charging to card
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Will Always Us

I have been using Turbo Tax since it came out. I have compared my returns with many other online tax return sites and I always come back to Turbo Tax. I will keep using. It is so easy, jusy one, two, three and you are done.

Quick and relatively easy

I've used Turbo-tax for several years.
It makes the whole process much easier to understand, less stressful and substantially easier to cope with overall.

What's great about it: I like that it walks you through each item and gives more info where needed
What's not so great: The program wanted me to upgrade to investment income version. Had only one small amount - this program did work for it.

Turbo Tax is excellent. I have been using it for years. Never had reason to try anything else.
What's great about it: Ease of use and last year data import.
What's not so great: Had a bit of trouble with ItsDeductable

Easy Breezy

Good rundown and explanation of income, credit, deduction, and itemization sections in helping lowering tax liability. Ease of use in preparing and storing multiple returns. Good customer support when stuck.
What's great about it: Very easy to use - takes you thru step by step with simple questions - provides insightful information - good support
What's not so great: cannot file ca return even though I do not have to - would be nice to have option to protect oneself

Great Software, but the program never asked me if it was ok to check for updates. It has always in the past. I just glad I did check for updates.
What's great about it: Easy to use, Like seeing what I did in previous years
What's not so great: What happened to the auto updates

Great Refund!

Last year we missed the 1099 G for unemployment of income of 9000.00. This year we had to pay a penalty of 2300.00.
What's great about it: Relatively easy to do.
What's not so great: Not always sure I got everything.
