Turbo Tax is a piece of cake

The program was very easy to use and felt comfortable
What's great about it: Very easy to use and self explanatory.
What's not so great: The only con was I did not know about the extra fee for filing State taxes electronically.

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. It is nice to see a familar format from year to year . Transfering he data from the previous year is a real time saver. I use the forms method to fill out my tax forms. It would be nice if the cursor stayed at the last form used position instead of going to the home position every time one progresses down the form list. One can beat this problem by leaving two forms open close to the forms one is working on.
The data transfer between the federal and state works very well for me. My state taxes are rather complicated with credits to income paid to other states. Your program handles these calculation very well.

I have used TT for about 10 years. But I find the support for questions not very good and not very quick. I will try another product next year.
What's great about it: Saves all past info. Decent guidance as you navigate through it.
What's not so great: Some questions are not specific enough. Leaves you in a quandry. And if you have a question, it is hard to find the actu

Your section on tax free dividends is very confusing. It seems to be elsewhere from the place it would be in your outline of income.

Easy Breezy

This was easier than the last time I used TurboTax in 2009. I think the whole process took half the time I spent before. I saved over $800 doing this myself.
What's great about it: Easy to go through
What's not so great: Nothing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax Family

The best thing about TurboTax is that the software gives you enough guidance so that I don't have to hire a tax professional to help me - I can do it myself. Even though I have used it many times over the years, I still go through the entire software questionnaire since it reminds me of things that I might have forgotten. My situation is not that complicated but it does change a bit - this year I took some deductions for energy efficient home improvements that I had never done before and Turbo Tax guided me through the process and got me a deduction. Also, I seem to have bred a Turbo Tax family - all of my 3 children (now in their 20's and working) have their own copies of Turbo Tax. They gripe a lot about their cellphones, but never about their tax software!
What's great about it: If you use Turbo Tax year after year, it does a great job of keeping track of carryovers and e-filing data.
What's not so great: I will have to start paying estimated taxes this year, and making the program print them out was cumbersome.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Worked well for the most part

I tried to add additional sales tax information and found it to be difficult, even with using the help forum.
Also tried to change the misc. income information. It allowed me to change some information on one screen but when I went to the summary, the change was never made. Upon review of the actual tax form, the correct incomes were shown.
