Why pay someone else to do it????

Seriously?
You're just CONSIDERING getting TurboTax??
Does that mean you are STILL paying someone else to do your taxes for you???
*shaking my head*
I have been using TurboTax for almost a decade now, and I even use the same copy to do the taxes for all of my in-laws!
I am no computer wizard, or even up on the latest technologies...
I have ZERO financial experience or math skills...
TurboTax is simply the easiest way to get my taxes done!
I just sit at the computer with my paperwork and work through it no time at all, eFile with the Feds and the State and then wait for the refund to appear in my bank account.
This year?
$5,493 refund.
All for a small investment to download some software or install from a CD!

What's great about it: SO simple, easy, fast and friendly! No technical or financial knowledge needed.
What's not so great: It took me longer to make a cup of coffee than it did to download and install. Seriously.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Filing 2013 Tax Return

Mostly, i used Turbo Tax in Forms Mode since I'm at ease in filling out my return. However, sometimes I got lost in what i was doing and went to Step By Step mode. I appreciate being able to switch between the two. I knocked down the rating stars by one, since I'm not happy paying for filing my State return. The program is great--fees not so.
What's great about it: Easy
What's not so great: If you do Step-By-Step and do the return as it comes, it, it's cumbersome

I have used TurboTax for over 10 years and I like it.
Pros:
Generally easy to use.
Very complete and accurate. I have never encountered an error.
Import of prior years tax data and W-2s is a time saver.
I have used phone consultation twice and both times it was excellent.
Cons:
The default print of returns includes too many summaries, extraneous pages, and worksheets that just waste paper.
There are too many annoying marketing questions trying to upsell me on things such as audit protection that are displayed during the process.

Very good way to do your taxes

I have use TurboTax for many years and have always found that it is the best thing I have used. I was paying a lot of money for my returns to be done when with the help of TurboTax I can do it my self with confidence.
What's great about it: The information is easy to view
What's not so great: I owed Money

Taxes made easy

Have used Turbo Tax for 3 years now. It is very easy to use, it walks through every scenario, and I am confident that I did not miss anything when I press the submit button at the end.
What's great about it: My 3 yr old could file taxes
