Great Product !!

I really like TT and have been using it for years now. Sometimes when reviewing the form TT will show you something they think may be off or require more information. Where it needed more info, it should already have it available and used it. When showing something that may be off, it can be a little cryptic by showing the spot on the form. Might be better if it showed where the info was originally garnered /entered or give a choice between the two.
What's great about it: Makes taxes much easier than by hand
What's not so great: Sometimes TT doesn't present information in a clear manner

Makes the painful painless

Using TurboTax saves paying a tax accountant hundreds of dollars and provides as good or better accuracy. It's easy to enter or download the new data, and it is particularly great that it loads last year's data to be used as needed.
What's great about it: Downloading financial institution data; clear English questions; pdf archive of all tax forms used
What's not so great: none

Taming Tax

I have been using Turbo Tax for a long time now - many years. It has improved every year and has never failed to allow me to go through an otherwise demanding and consumptive effort with apparent ease.
What's great about it: For a tax system that difficult to understand and use - TurboTax minimizes the grief and gets it done.
What's not so great: none really

I prepared my return and saved it about a month ago all the way to getting ready to e-file it. I returned to it today, and the program had updates, which I installed. Then when I brought my return back up, much of the data I had painstakenly entrered earlier was missing. The big clue was that instead of my owing $2645, I owed over $9000! I was most upset.
Missing was:
My Social Security Benefits
My Itemized Deductions
My Estimated Tax Payments
After several hours re-entering data, I e-filed successfully and saved a copy. Then when I went to print it, only 4 pages were prnted at a time.

What's great about it: Very thorough and easy to navigate

This is great. Should have used Turbo Tax for the last many years. Awesome! won't be using my CPA an longer, unless I win the lottery.
What's great about it: Walked me through it easily
What's not so great: when I got to the IRS website to file!!!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Hoorah for Turbo Tax

Overall Turbo Tax is the only way to go for the filer who doesn't need serious tax preparation advice. I'm confident that all the versions, Basic, Deluxe and Premier would suffice for 90% of tax filers of today.
There are always those who will rely on a paid preparer for filing their taxes, but in my view that doesn't make fiscal sense when Turbo Tax is so simple to use.
My only nit if it is really a nit is there are still updates coming out late in the filing season. One would think all the "glitches" would have been discovered by both the taxing authorities and the software folks long before the end of the filing period.
What's great about it: Easy and painless, effortless transfer from last year
What's not so great: Still getting updates two weeks before the filing deadline.
