Easy to use

I've used TurboTax for years and it just keeps getting easier to use. The guided, step-by-step question format ensures that the right information goes in the right place in the tax forms. And the software is comprehensive and covers aspects of tax that I've never used, but may apply to many out there. Will use again next year and the years after that.
What's great about it: Step-by-step instructions, just plug in the numbers and let TurboTax handle the calculations
What's not so great: Need just a few more pop-ups to explain a few extra things

Why is it this way?

Overall, not bad. But it was difficult to "jump around", to find the place where specific information was located. Search functions should include individual words as well as phrases, and/or words not in the form title. It is also annoying to have to dig out and refer to last year's forms. You transferred part of the info; why not all of it? I think in years past finding the source of a number on a form was easier too. Now it sometimes generically takes you to the form but not the PLACE on the form, and other times it won't tell you where the number came from. Not too excited about the "help" options either.
What's great about it: Smooth process overall. Was usually able to jump around when necessary.
What's not so great: Not ALL 2012 info transferred. Difficult to jump to specific subject matter on forms or find where data came from.

I have been using TurboTax for 6 or 7 years and have been pleased with it almost every year. The only time I was not totally pleased was when I closed out a 401K and purchased a Roth IRA. That year if the instructions had been more clear I may have been able to spread the money out and not have gotten hit so hard on Taxes for the next two or three years. That is way behind me now and I am overall very pleased with the simplicity of using TurboTax and the ease of filing.
I had a problem this year, my wife had gotten rid of my old desktop that I had been doing my TurboTax return on for at least 5 years so I was unable to import my 2012 Tax information to my 2013 return. I thought if I put the CD from 2012 in my laptop it would load my info into the laptop, but I was mistaken about that. I had to do a lot more entries because i was unable to import last years return. i overcame that and have completed my 2013 return and am happy to say getting a refund on both Federal and State income Taxes.
