Another year filed, thanks for Turbo Tax

Again I have trusted Turbo Tax to help me file my taxes this year. I am a 77 year old woman and filling out tax forms was excruciating until Turbo Tax came along. A friend told me since my taxes were not that difficult I might like to try using Turbo Tax rather than a CPA.. I tried Turbo Tax and have never looked back. I have never been contacted by the IRS with questions about my tax returns.
What's great about it: catching my errors/ommissions
What's not so great: Why couldn't I use my Fed tax towards next year's tax?

Great product! Long time user, over 14 years, TurboTax is the best on the market!!! I use this software with total confidemce.
What's great about it: easy to use, reliable, accurate, complete
What's not so great: prefer to print copy for review first

Problems this year not seen in prior years

I've used TurboTax for many, many years. This version is not up to the standards of prior years. The biggest problem has been failure to eFile. Even after correcting any problems, the same error kept recurring. It appeared as though TurboTax would eFile the uncorrected version rather than the corrected version.
Also, during the eFiling process, TurboTax asked for a few data items that were apparently not asked for during the data entry steps or the error checking steps. It is a big confidence loser that something might be found wrong during the actual eFile process. And these were very minor items.

What's great about it: Hopefully fills in all the tax forms correctly
What's not so great: Many bugs in failing a successful eFiling

Covered My Bases!!

I have used Turbo Tax for, at least, 10 years. During that time the software has evolved from being almost like an app for punching in numbers to be added to a tax form, to an informative and logically produced Q & A that enters all of the data you need to show the IRS, and usually explains why.
I have come to trust it, accept it's advice and look forward to the challenge of seeing what new things the government requires of me.
What's great about it: Gave me confidence that my return was done accurately.
What's not so great: Note sure how my house depreciation is re-captured....doesn't explain that.

Easy to use

have been using turbo tax for several years now. always do wonder if an accountant would be better, but the ease of use, convenience and reading through tax law myself (courtesy of turbo tax) really seals the deal.

I purchased the delux version because I thought the state filing was included. I was more than a little irritated that I then had to pay an additional fee to file my state return electronically.
What's great about it: relatively fast and easy
What's not so great: extra costs for filing state return
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

dissapointing

I have a new Win 8.1 computer, and downloading updates failed. I called the help desk and was walked through it, but with a bad connection at their end, and accented individuals further complicating the effort. I had to call twice, because the first update I got did not include the state forms, so I needed to go through the painful process a second time. In the end, they were helpful.
The system would not take my information from two years ago (I had lost last year's filing when my old computer failed, leading me to buy this Win 8 model). As a result, I had to start from scratch entering all data for my return, and also for my mother's return, leading to lots of frustration.
What's great about it: thorough
What's not so great: download updatess were a nightmare
