Great program, review stinks

What's great about it: Quick and easy
What's not so great: Review of Turbotax

TurboTax is not difficult to use if you have done your income tax manually in the past using the instructions and forms provided by the IRS. I would imagine if TurboTax is a person's initial experience with filing one's income tax, then TurboTax can be confusing depending on the complexity of the return. It is my experience that even when using a CPA to prepare one's income tax, there is great benefit to the filer in using TurboTax and comparing the results. Two sets of independent eyes arriving at the same answers can be a great comfort.

Good product

This process gets easier every year..Your on to something guys/gals...Once it ready to go by your standards, It usually goes well.. I have NEVER had a problem..
What's great about it: the interview type of questions, never had a problem
What's not so great: still have to pay taxes :)

Loved TurboTax when it originally came out. Was trying to use the guide-me process with my daughter (self-employed) to show her how easy TurboTax was to use and ended up navigating on our own because the guide-me process skipped sections (self-employed - business use of home). During import of 2012 tax info (from TurboTax), amounts were duplicated in differing categories. Also, while adding assets and determining to expense an item, the item did not appear in the Section 179 list.
What's not so great: Duplicated imported info in different categories on Schedule C; "does not apply" not available in all cases

Had to pay

Good product will purchase again next year! However third party credit card billing % was absolutely ridiculous, I was forced to pay it because of the payment method I had to use!
What's great about it: user friendly, easy to use
What's not so great: always wanting to up grade, didn't get whaat I thought I had payed for, apperently!!!

Some Problems

Earlier versions used to be able to handle next year estimates easily. Had difficulty with this version.

What's not so great: Calculating next year possibilities and printing estimated tax forms

Your info on Royalties has a query on the company paying but no explanation of what the ownership title means. Most of us who get royalties do not have a clue as to what sort of setup the "mother company" set up consists of, not after 2 generations have gone by, and neither does the clerk of the other end of the telephone call.
What's great about it: The program has always been good, since it was from La Jolla in Dos
What's not so great: under look-up was directed to do Liquidation and yet could not find it when searching, just guessed to treat as last yr.
