Would not let me E-File. Kept saying an update was needed. Updated several times but still said update was needed. Gave up and printed return to mail.

Great program.

When conducting the Deductions phase, TurboTax should present a running difference between the current deductions and the Standard Deduction so that the taxpayer can discontinue entering his deductions when it is obvious that he should go with the Standard Deduction.
What's great about it: Very Thourgh.

Fast Tax, accurate tax.

Turbotax is a very good product. I've been using turbo tax since 2007, ever since my tax man wouldn't answer his phone when I was audited one year. I've even been getting larger refunds self preparing with turbotax. I just wish turbo tax would give minimum values you would need for deductions. I spend too much time adding bills together, just to find out I can not use health care, or work related expenses, or etc... as a deduction. All in all though, good job.
What's great about it: Turbotax is easy to follow.
What's not so great: Turbotax should give a minimum value for certain deductions.

Mostly Good but Suggested Improvements

Overall happy with TT but two requested areas for improvement please:
1. TT should prompt me to download and install updates each time I open it (I thought this did happen in past years but not this year).
2. When charities for donations are carried over from the previous year, they should be listed in alphabetical order to make them easier to find each year.

What's great about it: Quick, good prompts most places, comfort that math is correct
What's not so great: Not prompted to update when opening TT and charities not listed in alphabetical order

Another successful year

I have been using TurboTax for several years and it is indispensable. I used to gather all of my tax information and go to my tax preparer with all my numbers in hand. Then HE would enter the numbers into the computer. I figured I could do that. And TurboTax proved to be the right vehicle for me. Added to the ease of preparation is the on-line tax assistance when I have a question/
What's great about it: Easy Step works flawlessly. Review of my returns is quick and easy. Filing, now free, is painless.
What's not so great: None this time.

Turbo Tax is the only way to do taxes

I have used Turbo Tax for ages and would not change my software purchase. Over the years Turbo tax has improved the use and organization of the tax prep process. It take more time to organize our medical deductions than it takes to prepare the taxes with Turbo Tax. I must say that I hate taxes.
What's great about it: Sooo Easy
What's not so great: I hate taxes

turbo tax for dummies

Turbo tax saves a lot of money and time. At first I was unsure if I could do it but it eased my doubt ,as you go through it the more confident you become, now I am a Turbo Taxer for life.

IT AIN'T OVER UNTIL IT'S OVER

WAS SURPRISED WITH CHANGES. KEEP IT UP. HOPE YOU CAN CONTINUE TO SHIFT DATA FROM SOURCE ONTO IRS FORMS. IT SEEMS THERE IS ALWAYS SOME BOTTLE NECK. THIS YEAR IT WAS DEPLETION ALLOWANCE FOR GAS WELLS AND YES I KNOW I'M LUCKY TO HAVE THESE. IT WAS HARD TO UNDERSTAND THE INSTRUCTION FORMS.
What's great about it: MOVING DATA FROM BROKERAGE (VANGUARD) INTO CORRECT FORMS. HOPE YOU CAN EXPAND ON THIS - PUT SOC. SEC. ON THE 1040.
What's not so great: MY WIFE NOT HAPPY WITH HERS (SHE'S GETTING $$$ BACK).
