I THINK MORE INFORMATION ON USING AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS WOULD BE HELPFUL. IE WHO HAS TTHE CAPABILITY, AND WHO DOESN'T.

print problem
on April 1, 2014

I have used turbo tax for years and this year was bad.
It went well until I tried to print forms and all I could
get out of it was save as pdf file or print review(which
didn't do anything for printing) Cold not get entire refund for Iowa togo to next year. It was just bad. I don't know if I will use this next year or not

I have been using a professional for the last 14 years and after my experience today I realize I paid out a lot of money I did not have to. I feel that every deduction I had was more than covered. The questions are so easy to answer, I never had to sit and go "UGH?" I will definetly be using TT from now on.
What's great about it: So easy to understand!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Interesting experience for 2013

We have been TurboTax users for several years, and have always been pleased and grateful for the product and how it saves us time and worries. This year (tax year 2013) we saw a minor glitch that puzzled us. Somehow, TurboTax thought we had entered a Form K-1 for estates and trusts, and had left it incomplete. The final federal review flagged it, and we were stumped for a few minutes -- we did not enter any such information. I finally switched over to Forms mode and deleted the form. This short deviation only wasted 5 minutes of our time, and we moved on to successful filing, but TurboTax folks need to know this happened. Otherwise, a good experience as expected.
What's great about it: Accurate, thorough
What's not so great: Minor software glitch

It's Deductibe
on April 1, 2014

There used to be the option of "prin"t that accompanied agency donations of articles. For example, Salvation Army requires that you bring two copies of an itemized list. Thisoption was available several years ago and was terrific. Now it is a pain since you have to manipulate list (delete sections etc.) in EXCEL or Word. This complaint has been posted online with Turbo-tax for years and there has been no response or update. Since it once was available is there any good reason why it was deleted?
What's great about it: it's great for importing deductions
What's not so great: Frustrating that you cannot get an individual print out to accompany donations

went to updates as required several times and although it says you can e-file after updating it wasn't allowed.
I buy this product for the ease of e-filing, but disappointed.
What's great about it: easy to enter income and deductions
What's not so great: Will not allow e-filing

Turbo Tax does it again

If you have agonized filing taxes before or if you paid big bucks to have them done for you, you have a solution in Turbo Tax.
Test it out for yourself. Buy Turbo Tax and re-do your current taxes (if you did them yourself or had them prepared by someone else). Check if your numbers agree and pay attention to how you succeeded on your own; then you know that next year you have a better way to go..
What's great about it: Easy & accurate to file
What's not so great: None
