Kept having to go out and reenter date when the deducuctions were for the same entity.
What's great about it: Ease of doing most tax items following the federal guidelines.
What's not so great: Deductions

Long time Turbo tax user

I've been using Turbo Tax for close to 20 years. I work at a seasonal tax preparation office and still chose to pay for Turbo Tax. I've never had a problem. As my tax situation has become more involved, for the most part, Turbo Tax has been easy to use. My only issue has been the last couple of years with 1099-Misc income. I figured it out but someone with less tax experience and without tax professionals behind them might struggle in this section.
What's great about it: quick and easy, never had a major issue
What's not so great: 1099 Misc section confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Soooo Easy

This Turbo Tax program is the easiest one yet. Explanations were great and this is the first year I did not have a problem.
What's great about it: Easier Each Year. Took no time at all.
What's not so great: For me, nothing except I still have to do local.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Sometimes confusing to go back to a previous issue and change it. Lack of alphabetization of list of charitable donees. This would be a useful improvement.
What's great about it: Has all the capabilities
What's not so great: Finding previous issue

Using TurboTax lowered my taxes

In prior years I always did my taxes using an EXCEL spreadsheet. This year I decided to purchase TurboTax Delux to confirm my calculations. At first when TurboTax computed a smaller tax than my spreadsheet I thought there was an error in TurboTax. I called and the support person (Terrian) was very knowledgeable and patient in analyzing the differences and discovered that I had not taken advantage of the Qualified Dividends Tax Worksheet. After adjusting my spreadsheet to include this situation - Voila - I saved on my taxes. So kudos to INTUIT for their great product.
What's great about it: Outstanding customer support

Investment guide could be more user friendly

I have a very simple tax situation but I do have stock and fund investments. It seems that the guide narrative is aimed at a more sophisticated investor and can be very difficult to follow. I'd suggest that the authors "dumb down" the guidance and aim it at the average person who happens to have an investment portfolio through a brokerage. The section on Cost Basis assumed a level of knowledge that I sorely lack.
What's great about it: The guided data entry is fantastic
What's not so great: The investment section needs dumbed down

had touble this year

Had terrible problems after I loaded my second state. Nothing would transfer from federal form to second state form. After 2 hours of trying to make it work and looking through help I started over.
After starting from scratch again everything worked correctly it was just a pain to have to go over everything again.
What's great about it: easy to use once I restarted
What's not so great: Had to restart entire process after I downloaded the second state
