There are instances were the refund is the same whether you itemize or not. In this case the filer, should not be itemizing his deduction, because of the State taxes offset.
I am willing to give you more details if you want to.
What's not so great: Standard Deduction vs. Itemised deduction

I'm glad I chose to use TurboTax Deluxe this year instead of paying ten times the amount to get it done by a CPA.

I have used TurboTax for many years and would never switch.
No one wants to be bogged down with all the paperwork. Turbo tax takes you step by step and eliminates the guess work. I'm pleased.

Will not use TurboTax again

This is my first experience with TurboTax and will probably be my last. This is just a bad product. I am not one who usually gives bad reviews but I really did not like using TurboTax and would not recommend this product to anyone.
What's great about it: NONE

Have been using this for about 5 years+ and would recommend it for anyone - It has made life very easy at tax time and even transfers figures and data from the previous year---thanks again --
