I'll always use TurboTax however....

Everything was fine until I went to transmit my returns. My return kept getting rejected because of needed updates. After 4 tries I decided to try transmitting the federal separately. It went through but the state wouldn't go though I tried several more times. It wouldn't go this morning but just now did. No one needs this kind of frustration when they've just finished their taxes. I've never had a problem before but just like I love my car but turn on it when it gives me a problem I'm frustrated with TurboTax and I turned on it for a while but am now ready to forgive.
What's great about it: Fast, confidence in accuracy, have been using it for years.
What's not so great: Sometimes I have trouble navigating if I step off the easy-step

I like Turbo Tax very much and have used it for many years. It makes doing my taxes fast and easy. However, two things about the program are frustrating: 1. The printing options do not allow one to print whatever pages one wants. For instance, I would like to be able to print the summary sheets and any other forms that I would like to review as I am doing the taxes. The program does not allow this. 2. It is difficult to correct mistakes that are carried over from the previous year. Years ago I put a period after my middle initial. Each year the program complains about the period, and the only way i can get rid of it is by overriding. However, the overriding does not save, and I have the same problem each year with the period showing up and the program complaining about it.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Problems filing in multiple states
on March 31, 2014

Our Federal return went smoothly. However, state returns were a different story. We file a non-resident return in MA and a resident return in CT. Turbotax has a bug that really needs to be fixed and caused us big headaches. (Bug was there last year as well). We only have ONE income, but the income is reported to CT and MA on ONE W-2. Turbotax combines those numbers on one part of the MA NR form and it messes up our numbers. Please fix it!! (And yes, we have done google searches and see that there are others with this same problem). I'm going to look into a different tax package next year and hope that they are able to handle multiple states better than Turbotax.
What's great about it: Federal return went smoothly
What's not so great: Issues when filing in two states
