I used this software for many years, and it's very useful for a not too complicated tax return.
What's great about it: Very accurate and easy to use
What's not so great: Way too long to load up on Windows XP

Turbo Tax seemed to be more efficient this year!

Turbo Tax is the best investment one can make in preparing own taxes.
What's great about it: The ease of transferring needed tax info from other sources.
What's not so great: the charge for deducting e-file from refund

Easy, fast refund!

Just completed filing my 2013 tax returns (federal and state) and did everything - including updating the forms - in an hour. It would had been faster if it was not for the slow computer which took forever to update the files!
What's great about it: Completed the filing process in an hour!
What's not so great: Updating time in a slow computer

Turbo Tax continues its down-spiral

Turbo Tax continues its down-spiral. This was the first year it didn't import the non-changing personal data from last year, and cap loss carryovers. There was no way to force it to look at last years taxes even though I was working in the same folder with the same basic filename.
Supporting documents that are expanded and calculating a value for a particular cell had a check box saying "check here to NOT print this…". Well, it doesn't print supporting sheets like this either way. There is no easy way to go to related data. Used to be able to double-click a data field in a form, or right-click, and it would take you to the worksheet of the source data. Now you have to muddle around the forms and manually find it.
It seems like they are dumbing it down and removing lots of great features and breaking other functionality year over year. I'm not happy at all with this latest version being even more dysfunctional.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to go through the tax process, if your taxes are simple
What's not so great: Keeps getting worse year over year

We feel confident that Turbo Tax has worked hard to produce a product that we all can use, it will offer other avenues to the tax payer to improve their return and stand by its claims.
What's great about it: Familiar process having used TurboTax for years. Smooth and fluid question and answer format.
What's not so great: None
