The handling of stocks transactions with the cost reporting requirements were very hard to figure out. I have two brokerage firms and they must have reported information two different ways.
Also, when looking to edit some fields, there was no pointer to the source of the data so I had to hunt for it.

The review process was straightforward and made me feel they had all the bases covered.
What's great about it: Calculations and coaching were spot on

Confusing Energy Tax Credit

I love using Turbotax and once I have our personal financial data together it makes filing a dream. I only had one issue with the system this year and that is it was very difficult to find how to enter the tax credit that I was due for having updated my air conditioning system. Once I was able to reach a Turbotax expert by phone the issue was quickly resolved. Definately would recommend this system for doing taxes to everyone.
What's great about it: Easy to use once I had my specific numbers
What's not so great: Confusing how to file for new air conditioners that qualified for a tax credit.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo-tax 2013 Updates not entered upon start.

At 75 years of age, it most certainly could be less time consuming! Not having complete updates entered when one first starts installing the program, instead having to search out
needed updates when almost all information has been entered. Is really PITIFUL!

Determining Cost Basis was not pleasant.
Your fix was not really very user-friendly and it was sent out on March 27!
I have used TurboTax for years, this was not a good year.

Reliable resource

I am retired now. My experience has been 95% great for many years. Only complaint: I had to pay excess IRA tax on funds withdrawn when they had already been taxed. I know I could have called someone - as I did last year - but did not do so this time.

Found Money!

We have used Turbo-tax for 10+ years and have always found it to be a extremely user friendly software designed to help complete the information needed for filing taxes. I highly recommend this to my friends!
What's great about it: Very thorough and straight forward, Turbo-Tax cuts down on the confusing Government mumbo-jumbo and makes it clear!
What's not so great: An index of forms and what they are requesting would be helpful.
