Tech support was fabulous and she helped me find mistake, could have been better if error check found it first.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Should have found mis-typed number at error check

Done in quick time

When I did income tax by hand, I had to figure all of the totals and recheck for errors. Everything is done for me now. It takes me much less time and is a lot easier,. Plus with electronic filing, I do not have to worry about the mail for either filing or returns.
What's great about it: Used to take several days to do income tax. Now I am done in a short time.

Overall, I prefer using TurboTax to any other method. It keeps me engaged in the process but makes answering the interview questions easy.

Turbo Tax Procedures for Inputing Social Security

Turbo Tax needs to review IRS Publication 915 (2013), paragraph titled "Canadian or German social security benefits paid to U.S. residents." And, include a line in social security income entries for German social security income. AND, some instructions need to be included to explain how these people get total annual amount of German social security payments for tax year (if sent to bank automatically, add up bank entries in statements for that year) because Germany does not automatically send out a year-end statement.
What's great about it: For US and Canadian social security - Good
What's not so great: For German social security - TERRIBLE

Filed by Turbo Tax for six years now. It gets easier every year and the software seems to get better at anticipating my questions. Maybe I am getting used to Turbo Tax now.
