Overall I still give fives stars, my first time using it and it worked.
What's great about it: Got things done quickly, asked the right questions
What's not so great: some things were not obvious, such as what forms were needed.

Love Turbo Tax! it simplifies the process, once one has all their data on hand. The disc product does a nice job of covering many tax deductions/options for users untrained about the tax rules/deductions.
What's great about it: prompts, explanations, references to IRS for addtional detail, program carries calculations forward
What's not so great: could use a little more depth in TT before having to go to IRS site

Good....mostly

On some forms, amounts that came from other forms were vaguely identified and I had to search to find the originating form and value. This should have been a click to originating document / value. That way I could have more easily verified the accuracy of the value.
What's great about it: Quick and logical.
What's not so great: Vague about where some valuses came from.

I find it quicker to do my tax returns by hand but using Turbotax gives me confidence that I did it right. For some unknown reason Turbotax would not permit me to efile. Said it was bc I need a software update but i scanned for an update and my software is up to date. Very irritating bc now I have to wait 4-6 wks for my refunds.
What's great about it: Easy to use, good explanations for each entry
What's not so great: Slow

Turbo Tax is GREAT!!

I have been using Turbo Tax for 11 years now and have recommended it to everyone I know. In the past several years I have even assisted several who had not used it before. No cons from me about Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: It asks all the questions and all you have to do is fill in the blanks.
What's not so great: Not a one

State return not "talking" to Fed return

When trying to e-file my Virginia state return it would not allow this. Don't know if actually sent or not as amount in "Refund box went from $303 to $0. I was difficult to figure how to change my filing status to single on the state form - I had to dig out the form itself. When I went back to regular TurboTax I was now working on an amended return. Was it e-filed? Was I charged the extra fee for state e-filing? Don't know. Confusing and frustrating.
What's great about it: Steps are easy
What's not so great: Steps did not work
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
