Need one more printout
on March 31, 2014

Need to add one more printout. It is hard to review the data once entered. Two options - repeat the step by step or go to the tax forms. Would be great if one could printout "my tax data" so that one could check off their receipts against the entered and look for things that were not intended. I know it would be a long printout but worth it in my opinion.
I mentioned this a year or two ago but apparently I am the only one who would like to see this.
What's great about it: comfortable with arrithmetic
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

close, but not quite for clergy
on March 31, 2014

All of the needed tools are available in Turbo Tax, but for clergy just following the programs suggestions is not enough. In particular, the program does not handle either the fair rental value of a parsonage or the need to pay self-employment tax on all income (since we are employees for the IRS but self-employed for Social Security). It is therefore also difficult to get the federal estimated taxes done correctly, especially since Turbo Tax does not review federal estimates and the worksheet must be found, corrected, and kludged (for the SE stuff above). Over the last several years of using Turbo Tax, we have learned all the appropriate work arounds, but it would be nice if Turbo Tax could incorporate some of them. It would also be nice if Turbo Tax would realize that Royalty income (e.g., from book sales) does not require the same questions as a rental property and would stop asking them.
What's great about it: eventually allows us to do what we need
What's not so great: has trouble with clergy taxes
