Easy To Do Taxes

Overall, it took me less time to complete our taxes this year. The only problem I had was the con mentioned above. Not an issue every year, but I couldn't find where to enter that information in the state tax forms. Otherwise, great tool.
What's great about it: Simple, guidance, explanations about tax terms, Online help
What's not so great: A few topics still not clear (eg, how to enter state tax for early withdrawl from retirement benefits)

Turbo Tax does it again!

I have been using Turbo Tax for about 20 years now and every year I feel confident that it is helping me to get the best refund possible. I go through the areas that I need, skipping the ones that are not relevant, and watch my refund grow as I enter more data. Thanks,, Turbo tax!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is easy to use.
What's not so great: Took a long time to get the info on state sales tax, but that could be the fault of Congress

Came Back!

I was using Turbo Tax ("TT") regularly and then was enticed by a lower priced package from a competitor. Very disappointed in their product......so I'm back with TT! It's worth the few extra dollars. Product is easy to install and to use. The walk through process prods the user to look at income & deductions they might forget or be unaware of.
One area that could be improved is the way TT walks the user through an HSA. The refund plummets when you put the 1099-SA in and it's not until several screens later when you are asked to enter additional information on the HSA that the refund meter zooms back up. Confusing at best. Better explanations or grouping all of the HSA screens together would be helpful.
What's great about it: Easy to use; handles most situations
What's not so great: HSA walk through is choppy and confusing

Once I had all my documents in front of me, the step by step program walked me through the process. It is essential to have all the deduction paperwork ready before you start. And it helps to have your previous years Turbo Tax handy to shortcut some steps and show a comparison with the current year.
What's great about it: The program is dummy proof. It checks for errors and shows you where you messed up
What's not so great: Some of the language confused me at first but I clicked the "explain this" and things went smoothly after that
