Turbo Tax is adequate for the average return.
What's great about it: e-file included in price
What's not so great: Expensive generic software

why did I pay more for deluxe and not get state tax with it, very disappointed, will not buy again, this year I figured I'd save a buck and buy the deluxe with state tax but then told I had to pay more as with the standard pack so what did I get buying the deluxe package, Says Federal and state return right on the front, I'll down load state forms from my state and file myself, thank you
What's not so great: packaged said fed and state, not, you will be charge for state

I have used many versions of Turbo Tax and this one was the easiest so far. I prefer the software over the online program which I tried last year and went back to software as too many problems with online.
What's great about it: This was by far the most user friendly version. Very easy.
What's not so great: prefer software as to online
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax has gone down

I have been using Turbo Tax Deluxe for so many years, but the latest edition is a turn off. The updates took forever to install and caused my system to freeze. I have Windows 7 with 32 GB of ram and it still took time to install. I had to restart my system multiple times. I will look for another tax software next year.
What's not so great: Updates froze my PC.
