state trouble

Information supplied in the federal return may not be included in the Mississippi state program. Particularly the 1099 data. The 1099-INT, 1099-DIV and 1099-B data had to be re-entered for one worksheet and without full identification on the input pages (ie the program asked for detailed payer ID info and the amount of income on each entry. Income does not even apply to the 1099-B entries) I am not sure what the program uses for its calculations. Hence will redo the MS state return by hand because I can not trust TT!

Happy to get a refund!!

My husband and I thought we were going to have to pay a lot this year. we did end up owing federal but were happy to get a nice refund from the state!
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: have to pay extra for state e-filing

Security of accurate return

Turbo Tax gives a good feeling of not missing any items and also gives security of not making any math mistakes. Find that it is easy to use and easy to go back to previous completed sections for review or changes."It's Deductible" is not easy to use-especially adding items that are not on the list.It has been easier on previous years.
What's great about it: Security of not missing something or of making math errors.
What's not so great: "It's deductible"

I had a 1099 Misc Income that was part of my Schedule F. I entered it in the space provided on the list of income. Then on Schedule F, I included it as part of the income as Turbo Tax had not applied it there. On my review of the printed From 1040 it was shown on line 21 as other income and it was also in the Schedule F income.
What's great about it: It asked all the key questions.
What's not so great: The reporting of 1099 Misc is confusing.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Will continue to use TurboTax because it is easy and fast
What's great about it: Its Deductible, hyperlinks to explanations

my tax situations changes each year this year for the first time i have to make a payment due to an unusual high un taxed income that wont happen next tax year
What's great about it: lets me watch the results as i enter data
What's not so great: forces printing of est payment vouchers
