software needs enhancements

Big problem_ if data downloaded from broker sites shows state tax withheld as 0.00, it gives an error saying it needs state id # which in my case was not available. this wasted a lot of my time as well as the time of broker representative as well as the expert fro Turbo Tax. this issue must be resolved. I had almost given up & was thinking of doing the taxes using something else.
What's great about it: good in general
What's not so great: however, there are glitches in software needing attention

Phew! 3.5hrs and done for another year!

Overall simple to fill out steps and answer straight-forward questions. Where it got tricky was things like figuring out what category certain income went. I found the retirement income section a little confusing since it didn't specify my 401k. It would be nice if it just asked specifically how much you paid into several options, ie 401k, 403b, Roth IRA, etc, whether it is deductible or not.....then let the program disregard the other info if it shouldn't be there. It did that on itemized deductions, then said whether or not there was enough to itemize. That makes more sense than wondering, "Where do I input these amounts? or do I need to claim that?" (ie., short term care income, etc.)
What's great about it: Easy, Step-by-step instructions, Triple checks things you may have missed
What's not so great: Tax/Finance illiterate??!! Had to look up meanings of some terms to see what was appropriate for 3 separate items.

Turbo Tax is the answer....period. Very logically laid out. Asks you the right question. Quick review of the actual forms while you are working through the process makes it visual. I tell my friends...you are kidding me...you don't use Turbo Tax. I have a few converts....more to come.
What's great about it: Very Logical. Simple Instructions. Running Tally. Remembers last year's data / info.
What's not so great: Each time you go back to a section you have to walk through the whole process again.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Have been using turbotax for about ten years & it's been better every year. This year I finished all 4 returns in one weekend. Very happy.
What's great about it: Easy to understand & navigate

My federal return was rejected and the instructions said to delete a form but turbo tax would not delete it out of my return so if it is not excepted this time I will have to file by mail. I'm very disapointed and have been a long time user of this product

Love this product

I have been using TurboTax for several years now. I find the returns easy to complete because of the step by step guidance offered in each module for income and deductions. I also like that many of the items can be imported and that comparisons are made from last year to the current year. I have found that often times a 1099 is missing and it is a great reminder to see that you are missing something.
What's great about it: Easy to use and fill out forms
What's not so great: Fee for filing a state return electronically
