Turbo

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have always been very impressed with the ease and the thoroughness of Turbo Tax. I have 3 children and they all use it now. Keep up the good work.
What's great about it: Ease of completing all sections and year to year comparison
What's not so great: would like Turbo tax to question areas that had entries last year but not this year... example state sales tax deduction

Good Connectivity to Last Year's Numbers

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years now. I like the Tax History comparison sheet. We had a several changes in deductions over the last couple years. The Tax History helped show what credits and deductions made a big difference. It will help me figure out a strategy for next year.
What's great about it: Leads me through possible deductions.
What's not so great: There is a lot of things to read. but that's not TT's fault.

This is my 5th year on using Turbo Tax to prepare my taxes .I cannot tell you the knots in my stomach when I have to fill out any form, this is as easy as eating chocolate cake, my favourite.
What's great about it: Instructions are very easy & simple to understand.
What's not so great: Did not have any.

Screwed up

It is impossible to print paper copies of forms for my records. It always goes to a PDF mode which does NOT print in actual format. When trying to print OHIO to file it said something like "almost ready in few minutes" then just shut down and did nothing. SO I CAN'T GET A PAPER OH FORM!
State of Ohio you made the same mistake you made when you started state forms. AN ANNUITY FROM A DEATH SHOWN AS A 7 ON THE W-2 IS NOT TAXABLE IN OHIO, BUT YOU INCLUDED IT IN TAXABLE INCOME IN FORM. They changed the format and combined items on PAGE 2 Deductions and it should have gone there--WHICH IS WHAT I DID.
What's great about it: Does Federal and e-mails it
What's not so great: Won't print out ANYTHING, including Paper State Form

Unclear as to where to designate employer and employee contributions to HSA. Had to find info via Google search.
What's great about it: Prompts were thorough and rapid.
What's not so great: Section on HSA; employer/employee contributions

Tax Filing Made Easy
on March 30, 2014

Overall, Turbo Tax Made Filling Out and Filing a Tax Return Very Easy. All the Calculations Were Done As the Information Was Entered.
What's great about it: Transferring Information From Previous Year's Tax Return
What's not so great: Certain Information Should Have Been Handled Automatically, Not Called For During the Error Check
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Would not let me e-file
on March 30, 2014

TT would not accept a Trust identification number. I double-checked the number, tried omitting the hyphen but TT would not let me e-file. A relative using a different version of TT (I used Deluxe, he used Premier) used the same Trust employer ID number did not have the same problem
I had already paid by direct deposit through TT before the program forced me to conventional mail my return. So did that payment go through even though I did not e-file or do I need to enclose a check to the IRS?
