Terrific product, very helpful

TurboTax asks the questions a professional would ask, but in the privacy of your own home. You complete it on your schedule. For state return, it allows you to see how separating the deductions and credits affects your final taxes due. It is very thorough for most taxpayers because it covers those topics that the majority of taxpayers will face.
What's great about it: Asks the questions that need to be asked
What's not so great: Edit feature seems to take out the checked box if you go back to review a section

2013 Tax Returns

I really like the step-by-stp guidance in going through the federal and state income tax returns. Were I needed more information or answers to questions, there was a convenient hyperlink right there. Turbo Tax definitely takes the headaches out of annual filing.
What's great about it: Very clear guidance and helpful linked instructions
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Better than last year

TurboTax is improving, but it continues, after all these years, to handle some downloaded information idiosyncratically. It also makes it harder than it should be to navigate around while you are using the return. A possible alternate window or an autosave feature that functioned every minute or so would be a great help.
These kinds of oversights, which could be overcome by listening to these and similar comments from other users, are what keeps TurboTax from being a great program.

Very Easy to file

Good, But Overly Long Interview

Good job, but too many screens that could be consolidated and dealt with at one time. Also, asked some questions which were already answered by virtue of some data inputs.
Could do a better job of explaining tax loss carry forwards, educational tax credits/deductions.
State interview way too long. Program should be able to determine that most of the questions for college dependents with very little income did not need to be asked.

What's not so great: Too many screens with many being redundant. Asks questions that were already answered in previous screens.

As usual, excellent program

I've used TurboTax for more than 10 years and will keep coming back. It reminds me of items I forget from year to year.
The only feature I'd like to see added is in charitable deductions, it would be nice if the user could alphabetize the list of charities for ease of entering contributions from year to year. (It's the most time consuming part for me to fill out because I have to constantly scan for the charities I made donations to.)
