Makes tax filing easy

Besides being to easy to use, walks you through most common tax situations and points out less common taxes, Turbo Tax carries info over from prior year. That saves time from entering recurring info from one year to the next but for where there is depreciation, that continues accurately. I use Its Deductible which values my charitable donations then imports it into my tax return. I have been using Turbo Tax and Its Deductible for years now and love them. Not so crazy about paying taxes!
What's great about it: Easy to use, searches for all deductions, federal e-filing is free

Ease the way

It's an intuitive romp through the tax code asking every reasonable question and pointing out when something is unusual. I like the UI and the little bits of humor too.
What's great about it: Being led by the hand through all the vagaries of the federal tax code
What's not so great: no cons

Minimized my Tax Due

I am thankful that Turbo Tax carries my tax information from year to year. Everything from my carry over interest expense to my IRA basis from previous year contributions. Additionally, all my bank information, various areas of income, regular deductions and charitable giving items that remind me to capture all my tax form entries for the best results.
What's great about it: I found the ability to pull investment information from all my instituations very benefitial.
What's not so great: I have no compliants

TurboTax or H&R Block?

I like using TurboTax and have for several years because its cheaper than Tax advisors, but I always wonder if I am finding everything that I can to get the best refund. I don't always understand the tax language or if I am missing a deduction because someone isn't asking me a question that pertains to a deduction that I may not be aware of. Especially when it comes to investments, etc. I guess maybe I'll try a tax advisor some time and see which is better in the long run.
What's great about it: Speedy and accurate
What's not so great: Not sure I understand all the tax language
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy and fast and great up to last minute when TurboTax went out to look for updates from time of CD. Received "fatal error" message:
The file '_mth.eltitneeRyap_gld.lacol.tib23_rgnerepw_' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'TurboTax.cab'. This could be indicate a network error, an error reading from CDROM or a problem with this package.
So, obvious disappointment with this event; was able to go to saved file and finish # I guess without any updates#
