One problem; great tech support

My Ohio state tax process had a glitch on the entry for a college savings program. I called tech support and there was an indication that I would get a call-back in 12 minutes - it came in only one minute. It took about 20 minutes to resolve this and another problem that I had, and the support person was patient and very helpful.
What's great about it: Patient, helpful tech support
What's not so great: Difficulty wit state tax return.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

interview missed a few deductions

Interview missed a few: Maryland deduction for interest from US obligations, annualized income to avoid estimated tax penalties for US and Maryland.
Filing taxes is one step, but can you go further? Help us understand how we compare to other peers, are we missing tax reduction opportunities? What is our marginal rate? What does that imply for upcoming financial decisions? How are we doing? Where do our taxes go, what taxes might we see or avoid if our incomes change?
As a confidence check, provide mock-ups of 1099s, W2s, etc., so we can see if we missed entering any #s.
What's great about it: multiple views (forms vs interview)
What's not so great: missed deductions

State Return Crashed Turbotax Software - Macintosh

Overall, it's a great product but it had one major flaw. This is the first time that I've filled out my return on a Mac and I don't think that I'll do it again. I'll probably switch to a competing product for next year's return
What's great about it: Intuitive, easy to use, navigate, and file tax return
What's not so great: State Return Crashed Turbotax Software until a fix was implemented mid March 2014
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

You can trust TTax calculations and processing. For security I have a tax consultant check my returns. Only once in in 9 years consultant found missed item.
First time to E-File has gone well!
What's great about it: user friendly, easy to follow prompts

I have used this product for a long time (since it came out). It has always worked for me and my family.
What's great about it: easy to work with and always askes the right questions.
What's not so great: Little glitches like don't click this tab twice as I could not send my return. I did not know that it did not go through

An even better year with TurboTax

I have been using TurboTax for several years, and it just seems to get better. I don't have extremely complex taxes, although I assume the upgraded version would work well with that. I just have to enter information right off of my tax documents -- and the program prompts me as to what documents I need, and if I need to enter information in a certain category -- and it calculates my taxes for me, including letting me review what it did. I highly recommend this program for people who want to do their own taxes.
What's great about it: The program was easy, quick and improved from the previous years
What's not so great: Nothing that I noticed
