Software should let you delete information such as state files that will prevent you from e-filing your taxes

Turbo tax review

This is the first year I prepared my own taxes in some time. I have used Turbo Tax previously to prepare my children's taxes. Very disappointed in the lack of ability to e-file when I used it for my children and just now when I used it for myself. While the step by step help in preparing tax forms is very good, the e-file glitch needs to be fixed. I now have to request a refund for my state taxes which were not filed electronically. I hope that is hassle free.
What's great about it: step by step help and fairly cost effective
What's not so great: Poor ability to electronic file

Overall, Turbo Tax makes filing taxes very easy. The questions are straight forward and there is almost always a 'more information' link if you need to find out more about a tax topic.
My only complaint is that it can be hard to navigate the system if you realize that you should have entered 'x,y,z' but you aren't exactly sure where you were supposed to have entered it.The solution is to organize your paperwork before hand and to go slowly through the program.
What's great about it: Easy to answer questions guide you through your return.
What's not so great: It can be hard to go back and find something you saw, but didn't think you needed to worry about.

I bought some public traded partnership from the stock market but the Turbo Tax does not have forms that can easily help to take care of such assets.
Doing foregin tax for these partnership from Turbo Tax was a pain in the neck with mistakes (since the Turbo tax format does not match the K1 form too well).
Pls try to make it easier for next year version.

TurboTax computed the SEP authorized amount but did not plot it. I had to open the forms and plot it myself.

Misleading info on efile requirements

When my efile failed, the screen that comes up needs the secondary filer's pin first, but yet it asks for 'your' pin. This is ambiguous. The same thing happens when you need to enter the primary filer's pin.
What's not so great: The information given on efile requirements is misleading. You have to have a pin. Why not just direct people to the IRS
