Another successful return

System should not waste my time doing the state return and then tell me they want $$$ to file it. Other than that, Have used turbotax for over 10 years. Always meets my needs.
What's great about it: Thorough review. good help files
What's not so great: Have to pay for state e-file

getting a refund at snail's mail pace

Wish I had some inkling before starting to input all my charitable donations (very time consuming) & business expenses that it was not going to be worth my time. I lost my mortgage deduction this year as my home is paid for so no longer worthwhile itemizing. I was very frustrated that I could not e-file my federal return as have done for years. First time in 4 years I will be getting money back & it will take weeks or longer . Turbotax does not work on city returns if not living in the city & one person works there. Always do by hand.
What's great about it: have used for years, feel confident
What's not so great: could not e-file despite multiple attempts
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Simplified a lot of tax laws

I had to buy Turbo Tax Business to complete 1041 after death of father in 2013 reporting his Trust which I became Trustee. - I'm still a little perplexed that a guy who wanted to split the little he had to his children was taxed so much on reported income after liquidating assets.
What's great about it: Helped enter complicated numbers efficiently in appropirate fields
What's not so great: It's still a complex tax system, should be easier

Is a great program, easy to follow, but when it comes to asking questions, not really good answers, this is the only item I really don't understand and or like. Sorry :( but I am happy with the program, i buy it every year. Now calling Turbo, I have to say is A 10 - AWESOME - REALLY ROCKED MY WORLD! I HAD A PROBLEM LOADING MY CD, AND TURBO, THE GUY THAT TOOK MY CALL REALLY ROCKED MY WORLD, HE WAS AWESOME, SO PATIENT AND REALLY HELP ME AND WALKED ME THROUGH. THIS GUY WAS MORE THAN AWESOME, GOD BLESS HIM!! :)

This is the third year I have used TurboTax, however, I have never had problems validating my e filings as I did with the 2013 software. After three attempts of updating the software and still not being able to e file my returns due to validation errors, I read comments from a user experiencing the same problems. I tried their fix and was able to finally validate and e file my returns. I am very disappointed withTurboTax 2013 and will look at alternative tax preparation software next year!
What's great about it: Software easy to navigate
What's not so great: Download form updates riddled with errors

Overall, I really like TurboTax. I recommend it to everyone I know. I've even seen it used for a complex corporate tax return. The design of the program is excellent and easy to do. Thanks again for making my filing easy.
What's great about it: Simple, complete, well designed for Federal and California
What's not so great: Doesn't seem that intuitive for Arizona Non-resident
