I like how most of my information transferred from previous years
I had to request an update instead of it automatically asking me to do one.
What's great about it: How most of my information transferred from previous years
What's not so great: Had to request an update instead of it automatically asked

easy to use

well organized, easy to use with question/answer format. Also, has links to help information which helps with questions I have concerning a specific item. My returns are really, rather simple, but I feel comfortable I have turbo-tax going through the numbers and the confusing tax code we have in this country!
What's great about it: question/answer format makes it easy
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Mostly Good

The quality of the interface is a cut above H&R Block.
I had some special situations, which it did not handle very well. The worst one...A state tax refund was not handled correctly no matter how many times I went through the (poorly worded) interview. I had to read some IRS documents and manually override Turbo Tax's entry, otherwise I would have overpaid.
In a couple of other cases (semi-unusual situations) it did not cover the relevant tax-saving choices in the interview. I had to go off and do my own research.
What's great about it: Excellent Interface, Accurately Worded Interview
What's not so great: Gave Me Wrong Answer on Treatment of State Refund
Pros: I bought or sold investments

AZ Requires Federal Schedule A When Itemizing
on March 29, 2014

I took the standard deduction on my federal tax return. I itemized on my AZ return. When I printed my AZ state return for filing, it did not include federal schedule A for AZ filing. AZ requires Federal Schedule A to be included with form 104 when itemizing on the AZ tax return. I had to go back and change my TurboTax federal return to itemize instead of the standard deduction in order to get a schedule A to print.
What's great about it: Filling out info was easy. Nice to have data transferred from last year.
What's not so great: Did not include federal schedule A for AZ filing. State e-filing expensive.

Loved it. Been using Turbo Tax for maybe 10 years (?) now. Cheaper than an accountant, and just as accurate -- and I can do it in my pajamas!
What's great about it: checked for errors and got all my deductions
What's not so great: none
