Using TurboTax for many years made this year with different income and requirements easier. I was surprised at the things it caught and impressed that it asked questions that made me really think it was working for me. If only it would pay what I owe...then it would truly be worth the money! (Just kidding...unless that is an option and then I wish it would have asked me if I wanted that.)
What's great about it: walks through many things I wouldn't have thought of - much less time than filing manually
What's not so great: some of the help screens were difficult to navigate

I have used TurboTax for over 10 years, and I have never had any problems with entering several different tax situations into the program and having it be able to handle them all. I have complete confidence in this product.
What's great about it: Intuitive
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

up front, easy to use - as simple as sitting down with regular accountant- more convenient can do on own time without having to run out and panic getting an appointment somewhere!!
What's great about it: easy to use, like learning how to ride a bike with training wheels
What's not so great: unclear when it comes to state - additions and /or subtractions

Makes calculating tax returns easy and I will use again next year.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, allows going back to make changes
What's not so great: Somewhat confusing on 1099

Turbo tax keeps improving. They seemed to have picked up the double income glitch that affects NJ returns although it is still a manual entry. The Limited partnership reporting is opaque and they don't give you a lot of help. I still don't like paying $30 to e-file a state return. It is useful for carry forwards such as capital losses. State reporting still has some black holes.
What's great about it: Consistency from year to year, tax history, carry forwards
What's not so great: Opaque on Limited Partnerships
