Easy Easy Easy

Due to travel and limited time to prepare my taxes. Once I had all my figures this program was easy and did all the work. Usually I do my taxes by hand. Saved the time I needed to save for me ot to do all the computing.
What's great about it: Great helps
What's not so great: To let you know that the WA State Sales tax program will be automatically loaded when requesting.

During review, errors were found with no explanations. I think a ? link should have been provided with information. Some areas were not user friendly at all.

This work is a lot easier the second time around. I am still gong through all the sections. I hope that in the future I can know which sections to skip so that the process goes quicker.

I have been using turbo tax for several years and I love it. However the print (especially in the pop up windows) is so small I can barely read it! I have a Mac which allows me to enlarge or zoom in but it doesn't work with turbo tax. Please fix this!!
What's great about it: Smooth easy process and filing
What's not so great: Print/font is very small, difficult to see.

2013 Turbo Tax

The worst glitch was Turbo Tax failing to file electronically, which is BAD. The software kept running through a circular routine of "failure to transmit", "please update," then again "failure to transmit", "please update" and on and on. I finally did find a fix in the Help section which was to empty trash and restart the program. Fortunately that worked. I was using a Mac.
Everything else about 2013 Turbo Tax was great.
What's great about it: Everything went mostly smoothly. Turbo Tax improves with each year.
What's not so great: This year was glitchy with repetitive requests for updates .

EASY! EASY! EASY!

Time this year is of the essence due to travel. Normally I do my taxes by hand but found this program saved the time I needed to use on other projects.
What's great about it: Quick and easy with great reviewing for mistakes.
What's not so great: Let customers know that WA State sales tax section will be uploaded when requesting. There was a button.

Entered one way, tax of 2400. entered another way, tax of 1700. No real way of knowing which is correct, not enough detail, just trusting the program. Kinda scary.

I have been using TurboTax for close to ten years now, and I really like how it steps thru the entire process. I also like being able to directly download information from other sources, such as dividend and interest income, etc. from investments (saves having to try to figure out 1099s and where to put the information).
One thing that the later versions have changed is the ease with which I used to be able to go back and work on an area. I have found the new versions to be difficult to find certain areas without re-stepping thru the entire section to get to what you need to change.
What's great about it: Very thorough
What's not so great: Hard to find specific tax areas when you have to go back to something
