Excellent! "Year After Year"

This was the easiest year yet with TurboTax, and i got a larger return than i expected. I keep telling myself I am going to hire a tax consultant, but for the price and ease of TurboTax, i just cant bring myself to spend the extra money and to do it. I also appreciate the fact that for a small extra fee they will represent you if audited. That is incentive enough right there to use TurboTax. It took me about 2 hours to do my taxes this year and i was unprepared so most of that time was spent looking for my information. Had i been prepared, it would have taken less then an hour!!! Yeah TurboTax
What's great about it: TurboTax stays completely updated on all of the new tax laws even after the program has been written.
What's not so great: I have been using Turbo Tax for at least 10 years and haven't found any cons yet!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Typically Good Experience

As usual TurboTax delivers an easy experience. The interview process lays out the subjects and shows you where you've been. The year-to-year transfer reduces the overall effort and actually helps remind you of potentially missed items.
I notice two minor issues:
- I complete the task with multiple sessions. Sometimes when I restart I am taken back to the beginning of the interview process. Maybe after program updates are applied?
- If you e-file Federal and want to paper file State, that process is not straightforward. That's a definite contrast to the rest of the process.

What's great about it: Interview process is simple and provides progress info
What's not so great: Restarts do not always return to last location

I don't like paying to file the state refund when I bought the deluxe version. A least one state filing should be included in the price upfront.

Great Software

I have been using TurboTax for years and would not consider any other software. The software has so many built in controls that it very easy to avoid making errors. Downloading W-2 information directly into the software works perfectly.
What's great about it: Easy to use with clear instructions.
What's not so great: None

Makes it easy

Very good program; have used it in the past and will use it again. Provides good guide through all applicable topics. Help is limited unless an additional fee is paid; processing fee for deposit of refund is excessive. Very good program.
What's great about it: easy to follow steps; help with value of donations; great program
What's not so great: bank processing fee is excessive for deposit of refund into account

Another great year

I acquired a second car which I used for my business. I exercised bad judgement by entering both cars into the system and retiring one of them. That must have triggered the Like-Kind exchange form which I did not need but could not eliminate it from being presented. I finally placed enough information into the Like-Kind exchange form that Turbo Tax accepted it.
What's great about it: I love Turbo Tax getting data from last year's files
What's not so great: The Like-Kind Exchange form was difficult.
