The Long Haul

Install was a real chore with many start and restart attempts.
Received fix after a couple of weeks. This is the first time, in
over 10 years, with problems getting installed and started.

What's great about it: Once started process moves quickly
What's not so great: Tedious and lengthy install
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

This is about the 12th year that I have used Turbo . . . I get it early in January every year at Costco . . . good bargain too!
What's great about it: quick, easy, efficient . . . no guess work involved, they explain everything
What's not so great: cannot think of any

I have used Turbotax for the last 2 years and have found it thorough and easy to use. I wished I had tried it years earlier as I have had to pay accountants and tax preparers big bucks to to do my taxes!. The last tax preparer told me my tax return was too complicated to use tax preparing software. It always irritated me as I had to spend many hours to gather the necessary data to give to the preparers and yet pay them too. Not only did I find that the tax preparers omitted deductible items that I had been paying for but not aware of the deduction (investing expenses for instance) But Turbotax alerted me to these and other deductions as well. I highly recommend Turbotax. It references all items to the IRS regulations if one has questions not fully explained in the program.
What's great about it: Non deducutable contributions to iRA
What's not so great: lacked ability to pre- figure AMT
Pros: I bought or sold investments

More Difficult

Very difficult to figure out how to fix (if necessary) indicated errors. On form, the list of entries started 12 lines down.
Had forms which program demanded an answer and the K-1 had no information.
In most ways, very easy, but frustrating on certain forms.

easy peasy filing

Great product, easy to use, convenient for quick filing, money saver too
What's great about it: step by step guidance, updated refund amount at top is nice
What's not so great: none

TurboTax gets better and more automated/connected every year. I hardly had to make any manual entries.
What's great about it: Automates most entries from previous returns or on-line links
What's not so great: No complaints

I was able to complete my return in a fast and easy manner. Everything was explained along with help titles. This is my fourth year of using TurboTax and I will continue using. Keep up the good work.
What's great about it: Simple and fast. Very easy to understand
What's not so great: Some items were confusing

NEVER AGAIN TURBO TAX!

I will NEVER use Turbo Tax again! The program had many flaws from not loading correctly, then not updating, to having to completely uninstall Turbo tax and start over because the returns would not e-file. 3 days later and 30 + hours of troubleshooting...looking at the website - there are numerous people who have had issues with turbo tax and problems that have not been resolved! This points at a poor program and poor programming for there to be so many glitches. Next year I will be finding a new tax program - it will NOT be TURBO TAX!
What's great about it: Simple to follow
What's not so great: Had to go back too far to edit items. Programs had flaws!
