Easy and Helped Me Feel Less Stressed

This year Turbo Tax was easier than ever to use. I always start out feeling very stressed, but the ease in using Turbo Tax calms me down. The help section was very easy to use!
What's great about it: Questions were easily answered
What's not so great: I have to file taxes! Plus the 34.95 charge for e filing state taxes

Turbo Tax is so easy to use. It transfers information from previous years taxes. It very user-friendly
What's great about it: Easy to use, finds all the refunds for you, no need to hire an accountant

Disappointing

This year I decided to try TurboTax to file my state and federal returns, I bought the Deluxe Edition because it included all state and federal forms and because nothing was stated otherwise on the packaging, I figured that was everything I needed. Little did I know, there was additional fees to actually file my state returns and then a whole host of fees to this, that, and the other thing. When all was said and done almost half of my return will go to Turbo Tax to pay for the use of their software for doing my taxes. Sorry TurboTax, you got me once, you will not get me again.
What's great about it: It was simple to complete the forms
What's not so great: did not appreciate all of the HIDDEN COSTS required to file all my returns

I have used TurboTax since 1996, and have been very pleased. I literally looked forward to preparing my returns.
I am experiencing a "Life Change" (not listed by TurboTax below) -I retired at the end of 2013. I also received my first RMD from my retirement funds, because I turned 70 1/2 in 2013. TurboTax handled the RMD fine.
There were some minor items that were frustrating:
1) Sales tax deduction calculation not available.
2) Alternative calculation of depreciation on rental property
that I have owned since 1997 (not presented in prior years).
3) Printing tax forms @ end didn't allow side-by-side format.
4) Requiring mailing of Fed & CA tax forms when I am
E-filing.
What's great about it: Easy to follow format, concise directions, appropriate explanations when needed.
What's not so great: Sales tax deduction not available. Depreciation calculation for rental prop. more complicated.

Easy Peasy

I used to spend a ton of money having my accountant do my return. This was quick and easy and I am confident that my return is correct.
What's great about it: easy to follow
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
